The robin is probably Germany's most popular songbird. With this in mind, we developed our Robin loudspeaker: a loudspeaker that fits perfectly into any living space and is integrated into the existing high-resolution sound world of SoundSpace Systems loudspeakers.
The Robin loudspeaker impresses with its high resolution, exceptional micro and macro dynamics, and captivating tonal balance. Other outstanding features include its clean impulse response, extreme level stability and powerful sound reproduction down to below 30 hertz. High efficiency is a matter of course for all SoundSpace Systems loudspeakers. Robin is a semi-active 8 Ohm loudspeaker with 96 dB/W/m efficiency at a minimum impedance of 6.4 Ohms. All crossovers are first order and designed without any impedance correction, making it easy for any amplifier to work with Robin.
The Robin loudspeaker uses a specially developed AMT at the upper end of the frequency range. Speed, transparency and resolution are its defining characteristics and will impress every listener. The adjustable rear ribbon tweeter ensures incredible airiness and lightness even at the highest frequencies. The Robin's tweeter range is extremely resilient, so that soprano voices or electric guitars remain a pleasure even at high listening volumes. The delicacy of the high frequencies is hard to beat and gives the Robin loudspeaker its unmistakable character.
The purity of the midrange is essential to our sound concept. The Robin's 7" midrange driver has the same technological basis as those in SoundSpace Systems' larger loudspeakers, consisting of an exponentially shaped cone made from the finest cellulose fibres with silk surrounds. In line with the overall concept, these are naturally configured slightly smaller in our smallest loudspeaker. The electrical crossovers are reduced to a minimum. The folded open baffle configuration makes the midrange exceptionally fast and homogeneous. The result is a midrange with enormous emotional power, in line with our motto "feel the music".
Contour and timing accuracy in the bass are an absolute must for us. Therefore, due to the small size of the Robin, it was important for us to use bass drivers with maximum dimensions. Two 10" carbon drivers in a closed, impulse-compensated enclosure are used per channel. Perfect impulse reproduction and depth without compression effects are also hallmarks of the Robin. As with all our other loudspeakers, we compensate for the difference in efficiency between the high and mid ranges with an active bass and upstream DSP. The bass intensity can be adjusted to suit your listening habits or room conditions.
SoundSpace Systems Robin is a very sculptural loudspeaker. The combination of black piano lacquer and rosewood, as well as clear lines, give it a delicate and harmonious design. The combination of a bamboo enclosure and rosewood horn optimises the listening experience.
