The Pirol loudspeaker was developed to bring our idea of the ideal sound to life for a broad group of music lovers. The idea and concept gave rise to a wonderful loudspeaker that can reproduce sound in its entirety. Every type of music is brought to life as if by magic. Classical music – a musical experience. Jazz – we couldn't get enough. Rock – gets you moving.
Pirol is small enough to fit into any environment and large enough to produce real deep bass. Agility is its greatest strength. Pirol is just waiting for micro and macro dynamics. Nothing is too subtle for it, and it has plenty of reserves for large dynamic leaps. A large AMT with a delicately balanced resonance volume combined with a fast and precise crossover are the basis of this performance. Its efficiency of 97dB/w/m makes it highly efficient. The Pirol is an ideal match for almost any amplifier and pairs beautifully with a single-ended 300B.
The high-performance AMT at the upper end of the frequency spectrum plays seamlessly and is extremely transparent. The speed of the AMT is characteristic of the Pirol, which is used from the presence band upwards to the highest frequencies. At the highest frequencies, the tweeter is supported by a rear ribbon, which gives the reproduction more air. Transparency, detail reproduction and the absence of compression effects are the standout features. These are our fundamental requirements.
Great sound depends on fast midrange with a silky smooth texture. This sound profile corresponds to the midrange of Pirol's big brother, Aidoni. We wanted to transfer as much of this as possible to Pirol, so we use the same driver and the same open baffle principle. Everything else required significant modifications, given the differences between these loudspeakers. In particular, the mechanical, acoustic and electromechanical modifications have been adapted to the requirements. By optimising the final fine details in the midrange, the Pirol now produces a midrange sound that meets our expectations. The sound is in tune and in time. The Pirol takes everyone on a journey into music.
The bass line is the foundation of almost all music. Low frequencies in music are an intuitive experience whose emotions we cannot escape. This subconscious musical perception explains why the presence of physical energy in music is so important. By this we mean energy down to a level of 20Hz. Two 30 cm carbon chassis and 500 W amplifier power per channel, controlled by a high-performance DSP, generate the lowest octaves in our sound image. This makes the magic of music tangible.
Pirol's external appearance says a lot about its nature. Speed and power are immediate associations. Greek harmony theory and the principles of Feng Shui were systematically implemented in the design language. Pirol is available in a wide range of finishes. The multi-layered construction of the loudspeaker, including the ceramic core, contributes significantly to the weight of approximately 120 kg per loudspeaker. Pirol stands like a rock in the surf, yet it is extremely elegant and refined. When the music plays, it disappears into weightlessness and the magic of the music comes to life.
